AMA Announces 2011 Nominees

The Americana Music Association announced the list of 2011 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards nominees on May 23rd at the Gibson/Baldwin Showroom in New York City.  The one and only Miss Rosanne Cash. Top notch performances accompanied the announcement by The Civil Wars and Levon Helm and his Dirt Farmer Quartet featuring Jim Lauderdale and finally Cash played with Benmont Tench.

Robert Plant and Elizebeth Cook led the pack of nominations with three a piece. The rest of the nominations are a great cross over of new and old. Justin Townes Earle and Hayes Carll, who have both won the Best Emerging Act award are up for two awards. New guys Mumford and Sons were nominated along with The Civil Wars, for Best Emerging Act.

The ceremonies are set for October 13th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The full list of nominees is below.
